Applications are invited for an international residency at the Rijksakademie starting in 2012. Founded by King William III in 1870, the Rijksakademie was intended to be ‘a haven of international standing’. Today, the Rijksakademie serves as a laboratory for developing talent on an international level. It focuses on facilitating research and production for talented, emerging professional artists from all over the world. There are approximately fifty studios where resident artists work for a period of two years on research, experiment, projects and production. Large project spaces are available for try-outs, collaborations and presentations.
Residents get support at an artistic, technical and theoretical level. Artists, theoreticians and other advisors meet with residents in individual studio visits. The advisors come from different continents, cultures and generations, offering a diversity of views. This results in a dynamic abundance of links between art practice and society, reflecting the diversity of contemporary art practice. In addition to artistic and theoretical advice, facilities include extensive technical workshops, a library, artists’ documentation and art collections (Expertise Center). Resident artists pursue all major contemporary visual art disciplines: painting, drawing, photography, print-making, sculpture, video, film, sound and new media. Links with other disciplines such as architecture, music, dance, literature and cinematography are possible.
The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and the editorial team of www.culture360.org are inviting potential writers (comprising of film journalists, filmmakers, film academics, festival programmers, film professionals and film enthusiasts) from ASEM countries to submit proposals for articles. The selected articles will be published on the soon to be re-launched ASEF website dedicated to film between Asia and Europe, www.film.culture360.org.
Articles can have the format of a report, an analysis or an essay on the following topics: - A selected “national” cinema in which the contributor will present a background and provide first-hand insider information about the country’s film environment, it’s current state and conditions; - Cases of collaboration between ASEM countries, especially between the Asian and European regions; - Any other film related topic that is informative, educational and useful to our target visitors. The aim of these articles is to improve the understanding of the film ecosystem in Asia and Europe and to provide insight into the social and cultural context in which films are being made and evaluated. - Articles should be written in British English with a maximum length of 800 to1200 words. - Proposals should be submitted in the form of an outline (short description up to 5 sentences) of the subject together with a short biography/background note before November 30th 2010. - Proposal should be sent by email to jeremy.segay(at)culture360.org. The editorial team of culture360.org will evaluate the proposals and send email confirmation to selected writers by December 15th 2010. The deadline for submission of the articles will be decided by the editorial team at culture360.org together with the selected writers. The writers will receive a financial remuneration of 150 Euros per article. All content commissioned for the film.culture360.org website will remain the intellectual property of ASEF. ASEF reserves the right to alter, remove or perform any other necessary editing to content submitted for use on the film.culture360.org, on grounds deemed necessary by ASEF, including sensitive issues concerning its member-states. The author will be acknowledged accordingly on the page on which the article will be published. ASEF should be indemnified against any legal infringement and/or violation of intellectual property rights of third parties by the author, for content commissioned for the film.culture360.org website.
Performing Arts Japan Programme for Europe (PAJ Europe) was started by the Japan Foundation in 2006 to revitalise and facilitate the exchange between leading artists in Europe and Japan. The main feature of this scheme is that this grant will be made available to those organisers based in Europe who are planning to organise Japan related performing arts projects. The applications will be screened by an annually appointed panel of advisors who are specialists in the area of performing arts in Europe. Successful applicants will receive grants towards part of the cost of implementing their project.
The Japan Foundation is now accepting proposals for projects, which take place between 1 April 2011 and 30 June 2012, for touring and collaboration/co-production grants. To apply for the programme, please read the following guidelines carefully, and complete the attached Application Form and submit it along with other necessary materials to the Japan Foundation offices in Europe (see attached list to find out which office to send your application to) no later than 20 November 2010(receipt deadline).

Ze zaslaných filmů vybere komise do soutěže přibližně patnáct filmů celovečerních, dvacet krátkých, dvacet animovaných a asi třicet filmů natočených studenty filmových škol. SPACE - VÝZVA PRO KRITIKY A NOVINÁŘE V OBLASTI PER
Evropský divadelní network SPACE, jehož součástí je Institut umění – Divadelní ústav, vyhlašuje evropský tréninkový program pro kritiky, novináře a teoretiky píšící o oblasti performing arts. Performing arts se pro tyto účely rozumí divadlo, tanec, výtvarné performance, pouliční umění a cirkusová představení; hudba není zahrnuta. Zájemci by měli mít alespoň tříletou praxi, včetně publikační činnosti a musí mít zájem o zdokonalování znalostí, které jsou potřeba k psaní o mezinárodní tvorbě v oblasti performing arts.
Vybráno bude 20 jednotlivců, rozdělených do dvou skupin, kteří absolvují tréninkový program, složený ze 2 sezení (každé v trvání 4 dnů), a to ve dvou evropských zemích – Velká Británie a Česká republika. Účastníkům bude nabídnuta šance seznámit se s různými formami performing arts na divadelním festivalu (Londýn), představeních (Londýn a Praha) a výstavě divadelního designu a prostoru (Praha), kde bude prezentována scénografie jako obor, který existuje na hranici mezi výtvarným uměním a performing arts. Některé práce vytvořené účastníky, které se vztahují k programu, se objeví v konkrétní publikaci, která bude připravena a vydána organizací TEAM Network na konci roku 2011. Pořadatelé festivalu hledají mladé profesionální choreografy, kteří chtějí prezentovat svou práci na 3. ročníku festivalu Reverie, který se bude konat od 20. do 22. května 2011 v belgickém Ghentu. Festival nabízí účastníkům pódium, ubytování během akce, večeři každý den, technické zázemí a ideální možnost seznámit se s ostatními tanečníky a choreografy. Cestovní výlohy však nejsou hrazeny!

Nadace Jean-Claude Reynala nabízí roční grant ve výši deseti tisíc eur, aby umožnila umělci tvořícímu přímo na papír vycestovat nejdéle na šest měsíců do země dle svého výběru. Věk uchazečů musí být mezi 20 a 30 lety, uchazeči musí mít také alespoň dvouletou praxi ve tvorbě na papír. Národnost ani vzdělání není rozhodující. Deadline pro online registraci je 15. listopadu 2010, první kolo proběhne začátkem prosince a vybraní umělci budou vyzváni, aby zaslali tři svá díla (kresby, tisky a pod.) na papíře o maximálních rozměrech 40 x 60 cm. Tato díla musí být zaslána na níže uvedenou adresu nejpozději 15. ledna 2011.
NIYA is seeking for volunteers: Climate Change Project starting February 2011. The Project dabbed “Face the Change Tour 2011” will organize tours to 10 selected communities in Ghana, Africa. The first goal of the program is to provide young people from all over the world with a powerful, direct experience of the unique challenges developing communities face in protecting nature against the impact of climate change. The second goal is to enable participants to inspire and motivate young people to prepare their local communities to deal with and to protect the environment from the threats posed by climate change. Who is invited? The intercultural dimension of this project will be enhanced by the presence of volunteers from different regions hosted in the same community, in addition to 20 youngsters coming from Africa; there are 20 available placements for youngsters originating from project partner countries and other countries in the world. The program will host a total of 40 volunteers. This is an important opportunity for young climate activists who want to live and work in an intensive, fast-paced actions environment with other young people in some communities in Ghana. How long? The project will last 9 months starting with February until October 2011. The entire length of the program schedule include one month of recruitment and preparation of young volunteers, 2 weeks of local training, 6 months of field experience, and 2 months of follow-up and ongoing support.
